5 Nov 2008 - Lochalsh Dirty 30

From Lochalsh Trails Club

We are writing to let you know about a new 30 mile trail established in Lochalsh in the North West Highlands of Scotland.

The route offers spectacular scenery with views of the Five Sisters of Kintail, Eilean Donan Castle, the Kylerhea Narrows and the Isle of Skye.  It also includes the archaeological sites of the Brochs at Totaig and Glen Beag, The Bernera Barracks and officers’ houses at Glenelg built after the Jacobite uprisings, the old ferry slip at Totaig, and the Glenelg Ferry.

The Lochalsh Dirty 30 Challenge Walk is now in its third year and is an opportunity for individuals, groups and clubs to participate in a great event and test yourself against 30 miles of the most breathtaking highland countryside.

Saturday June 13th 2009 will see hundreds of walkers head to the tiny village of Glenelg to take part in the event.

If you think some of your members might be interested in taking part, we would be grateful if you would share this email with them.

Our website ( www.lochalsh-trails.co.uk ) has been updated and contains more detailed information on the event, along with the online registration form for those of you who fancy giving it a try... you won’t regret it!

Regards
