Items are loaned out subject to the following conditions:

1) Walk Leaders will be given priority on loan items.

2) Items will be assumed as being required for club walks (i.e. not available for off programme

activities at the same time as a club walk), and are available for loan midweek by non-leaders.

3) Communal/group items for use on a programmed club activity are loaned to leaders free of

charge.

Personal items may be borrowed for use on a club walk only if that item is not required by

any Walk Leader. A donation of £2 on any item, to the club equipment fund would be

appreciated.

4) A donation of £2 to the club equipment fund on any item, would be appreciated at any other

time. In addition a returnable deposit of £10 is required for anyone borrowing the GPS.

5) Borrowers must supply their own batteries for the GPS.

In addition, club members should make themselves aware of these club rules regarding the

equipment:

A) Any person borrowing equipment is regarded as being held responsible for their own safety

and no liability will be incurred upon the club or any member acting on behalf of the club, and

signing out the equipment will acknowledge this.

B) Any article of equipment borrowed must be returned to the Equipment Coordinator in as near

as possible the same condition, as to when it was originally borrowed.

C) Any item borrowed should not be monopolized for any length of time but referral should be

made to the Equipment Co-ordinator on a weekly basis to establish if there are any other

members who wish to use the equipment.

D) Damage or loss to any item should be reported immediately to the Equipment Co-ordinator.

E) If any article or piece of equipment is lost or returned damaged the person responsible for the

damaged equipment may be asked to either repair or to replace the equipment.

F) If any equipment borrowed is either damaged or lost, the committee will use their judgement

as to whether they feel that the borrower has been negligent, but they will take any explanation

from the borrower into due consideration.

G) The Committee shall have the final decision, as in their regard to deem if the borrower has

acted in an irresponsible manner and therefore will be liable to repair or replace the damaged

equipment.

H)No personal items, (e.g. ice-axes, crampons) will be lent out on a continual basis, for instance

to the same member week in, week out, year after year, as club members are encouraged to

purchase their own personal winter equipment.
